Smoothies Coming to Shallotte
Brandon Korman is opening his fourth Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Shallotte this spring.
Brandon and Deena Korman will be opening their fourth Tropical Smoothie Cafe location in Shallotte’s new Coastal Walk Marketplace center in early March 2023. The new Tropical Smoothie Café will be situated amid a slew of shopping options such as Ulta, Marshalls, PetSmart, Hobby Lobby and Five Below.
Korman and his family have been in the business for almost nine years, with Tropical Smoothie Café locations in Porters Neck, Leland and Long Leaf Shopping Center already under their belts.
“We’re locals, and the store is family-owned,” Korman says. “Franchises are kind of the new mom-and-pops. We have kids, and my wife and I work together.”
Korman is looking forward to bringing a Tropical Smoothie Cafe to the Shallotte community, serving the same menu of healthy eats like a variety of sandwiches, bowls, wraps, flats, quesadillas, flatbreads, grilled cheeses and smoothies. In addition, he plans to be involved in philanthropic work, getting to know other business owners in the area and partnering with local schools and businesses for fundraisers, catering events and more.
Wondering why Shallotte?
“Shallotte is an up-and-coming, growing place and I thought it’d be a great community to be in,” Korman says. “I’m most excited about restarting in a new community. This is like a whole new beginning.”
Korman says right now they own the rights to open up a total of seven locations.
“There were tons of different factors that went into the decision to open in Shallotte,” he says. “I just felt that Shallotte was really growing, and we wanted to be able to get our brand to different communities that will appreciate what we do.”
Beyond the excitement of settling in Shallotte, the Kormans’ latest Tropical Smoothie Cafe store will level up its predecessors with the addition of a drive-thru window — meaning that patrons can sip their smoothies at the shop, grab orders to-go or stay in the comfort of the car and swing through the drive-thru.
Tropical Smoothie Café has an online app, an impressive awards program and presence on third party platforms like Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash and Postmates.
With more grand-opening details in the works, stay tuned for Tropical Smoothie Cafe giveaways (like yearlong free smoothies!) and other exciting activities and events to come.
“What I love is that the company has always had the same kind of vision,” Korman says. “Our tagline is ‘You’re on tropic time now.’ … We’re the destination for flavor, and I love making people happy through food and smoothies.”
The new Shallotte destination will be serving up all the smiles, delicious fare and sunny vibes come March.
