Stay hip by shopping at Hamptons Boutique, a mother-and-daughter owned clothing and accessories shop in Leland.

Here in Brunswick County, Hamptons Boutique — a mother-daughter owned and operated shop — has been showcasing the chic styles of Long Island, New York, with fun, flouncy and floral pieces for women 30+ since April 2024.

Offering high-end boutique looks sans the staggering prices, Hamptons Boutique brings the affluent Empire State aesthetic to the coast of North Carolina via a New York native herself.

After moving from Long Island to Brunswick County more than 20 years ago, Josephine Tilley decided to start Hamptons Boutique with her now 21-year-old daughter, Paige Tilley. They had been hearing buzz around the community that Leland lacked shopping options for locals and knew it was a niche they could fill.

“I love working with my daughter,” Josephine says. “We have a really good time doing it — and Paige is doing great with the videos and social media side of things.”

As for its selections, Hamptons Boutique appeals to fashion-forward women seeking to look uber-cute for a range of occasions — think everything from beachy brunch outfits to church clothing to work wardrobe staples to an alfresco dinner out on the town. Plus, the boutique provides inclusive options for fashionistas of all shapes and sizes!

To boot, the Tilley duo works together to curate the boutique’s fashionable array of outfits and accessories.

“The clothing we have is really trendy while staying focused on mature women, all the way from 30-somethings to retirees,” Josephine says.

“My daughter and I work together to pick out our merchandise from thousands of wholesalers.”

While getting any business off the ground is tough and Josephine nods to the first year having its fair share of challenges, Hamptons Boutique has been such a hit in Leland that the mother and daughter pair are gearing up to open a second storefront in Southport this summer (they have their fingers crossed for an early July opening date).

“Construction is done at our Southport boutique, and now we are getting things set up,” Josephine says.

“The Southport location will have a more modern look that is simple and classic. Paige and I came up with the design.”

In addition to an updated atmosphere, Hamptons Boutique’s sequel location will expand its target demographic and offer styles that appeal to 20-somethings too.

While Southport’s store is slated to bring a fresh look, the Leland location boasts a vibe you might find in The Hamptons itself, complete with wood flooring and sparkly chandeliers for an ambiance that’s calm, relaxing and bright.
