Call for Artists: 10th ARTfall
Showcase your art at the 10th Annual ARTfall Juried Art Show & Sale in Wilmington, NC—call for 2D/3D artists, deadline September 22, 2025.
Are you a talented 2D or 3D artist looking for an opportunity to showcase your work in Wilmington, NC? The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center (HBHUSO/CAC) is excited to announce a call for artists for the 10th Annual ARTfall Juried Art Show and Sale, happening October 17–25, 2025.
Event Details
The ARTfall exhibition will be open to the public on:
• Friday & Saturday, October 17th & 18th
• Monday–Saturday, October 20th–25th
• Hours: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Join us for the Artists Award Presentation and Reception on Thursday, October 16th, from 6:00–8:00 pm in the Historic USO Building lobby museum. The event will feature awards for First, Second, Third Place, Honorable Mention, and People’s Choice, with cash prizes totaling $525.
Artist Submission Guidelines
• Eligibility: Open to 2D and 3D artists, with preference for artists from the Lower Cape Fear region.
• Artwork Requirements: Only original artwork completed within the last two years will be considered. (All work must be the artist’s own creation and not a copy of any other artist’s work or photograph.)
• Submission Deadline: September 22, 2025
• Submission Fee: $15.00 non-refundable registration fee
• How to Apply: Submit up to 5 digital images (JPEG or PNG, minimum 300 dpi, max 1080 pixels per side), plus supporting materials (resume, exhibit history, artist website) to aid in the selection process. Artists are responsible for shipping costs if not delivering in person.
• Notification: Artists will be notified of acceptance by September 30th.
Exhibition & Artwork Guidelines
• 2D Art: Must be framed or gallery-wrapped and wired for hanging. Maximum size is 24″ x 30″ or up to 720 square inches. No glass clip frames or saw tooth hangers.
• 3D Art: Includes sculpture, pottery, high relief, kinetic art, and more, made from any material suitable for three-dimensional work. Jewelry is not eligible.
• Display: Accepted artists may provide a black folding fabric bin to display up to 10 additional works, which must be clean, properly backed, shrink-wrapped or bagged, and labeled.
• Sales: The HBHUSO/CAC will retain a 25% commission on all sales during the exhibition. Artists retain ownership until sold.
• Liability: Artists are encouraged to maintain their own insurance for their work. The HBHUSO/CAC, City of Wilmington, and Thalian Association Community Theatre limit liability for damage or loss.
Meet the Juror
ARTfall 2025 will be judged by Benjamin Billingsley, an award-winning artist and educator. Benjamin holds an MFA from UNC-Greensboro and has exhibited internationally. He teaches at Cape Fear Community College and frequently curates for the Cameron Art Museum.
About the Venue
The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is a cultural landmark in Wilmington, NC. Owned by the City of Wilmington and managed by Thalian Association Community Theatre, the HBHUSO/CAC has served generations as a hub for children’s activities, art, recreation, and history.
