Lowe’s Home Improvement in Leland and North Brunswick Kiwanis Club team up on a gift for Lincoln Elementary School.

On December 12 North Brunswick Kiwanis Club (NBKC) sponsored the installation and dedication of a Buddy Bench at Lincoln Elementary School in Leland. The staff of Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Leland built and donated the bench in coordination with NBKC, which wishes to express its gratitude to Lowe’s for their great gift to the kids.

A buddy bench is designed to combat loneliness and bullying in schools. When a child feels low and needs encouragement, they use the bench to invite a friend to comfort him/her. The hope is that children will comfort each other. Buddy benches have been installed in communities nationwide and have proven to be effective at helping children in need.
