Summertime Fun

Have a great time while helping Waves4K.I.D.S. raise money for children in foster care.

The Summertime Fun event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Waves4K.I.D.S., and it is coming back on June 5. This year it will be hosted at The Barn at Rock Creek in Leland and will feature the Catalinas, who will be playing beach music and other crowd-pleasing tunes.

The event includes a complete meal and beverages as well as a cash bar provided by Art Catering & Events. A live auction as well as a chance 50/50 raffle will be part of the fun. Doors open at 3:30 pm, and dinner will start at 4 pm. Live music can be heard from 5 to 8 pm.

Waves4Kids is an organization that raises money to help foster children in Brunswick County. The organization works closely with the North Carolina Department of Social Services to bridge the gap between what the state provides and what the children need. Many times, foster children enter foster care with only the clothes on their backs. Waves4K.I.D.S. steps in to help with gift cards (to buy clothes and other necessities), car seats, pack and plays, school supplies and more. They also give money so that foster children can attend summer camps, individualized lessons and help with college educational expenses. Waves4kids is an all-volunteer run 503(c) charitable organization with little to no overhead; thus, donations truly go to the children in need.
