Warm Spiked Cider
At your next gathering, pull out the Crock-Pot for this versatile, comforting cider.
unspiced/unsweetened apple cider
Whole oranges, sliced
Fill a Crock-Pot with cider. Add in orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, allspice and star anise. You may also want to put the spices in a tea ball, tied cheesecloth or coffee filter.
Set the Crock-Pot to low and let cook for about four hours.
To serve, ladle the cider into a mug and add 1½ to 2 ounces of your favorite spiced rum, bourbon, whiskey or brandy.
Garnish with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
