HAND DRUMMING
Enliven the communication centers of your brain while learning the art of hand percussion. In this class you will learn rhythms designed to be played together in polyrhythms. Drums are provided and no experience is necessary.

INTRODUCTION TO JAZZ
Jazz dance is an exploration of style presentation that combines classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular dance. The class includes a warm-up that develops strength, flexibility, coordination and jazz dance technique. Classes will progress to learning simple jazz choreography. Beginner.

INTRODUCTION TO MODERN DANCE
Classes will begin with a simple and effective warm-up to build strength and to stimulate core connections and body awareness. Dancers will then focus on directional and weight changes, rhythm, and fundamentals of movement such as time, space, and effort qualities. Phrases of movement are taught and developed into larger bits of choreography. Beginner.

INTRODUCTION TO BALLET
This class is an introductory exploration of ballet for fun, fitness, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Participants will be gently guided through the unique body movements of ballet to experience the joy of classical dance. Attire should be appropriate for stretching and movement. All levels.

INTRODUCTION TO BELLY DANCE: RAKS SHARKI
This foundational class focuses on the basic hip, chest, hand, arm, travel steps, and combinations inherent in all styles of belly dance. Movements are introduced and broken down into simple-to understand elements. Participants will learn a simple, elegant dance.

INTERMEDIATE BELLY DANCE
This session covers Egyptian-style belly dance. Participants expand on movements learned in Introduction to Belly Dance to learn the basics of Egyptian belly dance. Participants will learn a challenging choreography.

INTRODUCTION TO CLOGGING
This class covers the basics of clogging steps arranged in fun dances to various types of music. Participants will be introduced to mountain clogging, flat footing, and novelty “pity pat” style dancing. This class is mildly aerobic and open to all, regardless of dance background.

INTRODUCTION TO TAP DANCE
Introduction to Tap will establish fundamental tap movements and vocabulary and focuses on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively combinations for beginners. Tap dance sharpens reflexes, improves memory skills and coordination, and is a great way to develop musicality, timing, and balance. Beginner.

Building on principles that are learned in Introduction to Tap, this class continues the development of tap technique with a focus on speed, transitions, and style. Participants should be comfortable with basic tap vocabulary, including cramp rolls, riffs, draw backs, maxi fords, and time steps. Intermediate and advanced.

DISCOVER THE JOY OF ACTING
Participants will learn to express themselves using mind, voice, and body by role-playing, character development, and staging. Improvisation, monologues, and dialogues will be used to develop acting skills. The supply fee is paid to the instructor on the first day of class for scripts. All levels.
