Non-Profit of the Year
For its wealth of contributions within the community, John E. Jacobs American Legion Post #68 is named North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce’s Non-Profit of Year.
At its June 2023 meeting, North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce presented John E. Jacobs American Legion Post #68 Leland with its Non-Profit of the Year award. REV Mortgage of Leland, a member of the North Brunswick Chamber, presented Post #68 with a donation for their work within the community.
“The veterans in the Leland area greatly appreciate REV Mortgage of Leland’s generous support,” said 1st Vice Commander John Hacker.
The Post will apply the funding to its efforts in assisting local veterans in need and several community projects, including youth programs, veterans assistance and community activities.
The John E. Jacobs American Legion Post #68 Leland members are very active in the local community. They sponsor local students to participate in Boys State and Girls State and provide scholarships to support the education of children. They support the North Brunswick High School JROTC and participate in local events, such as Leland’s Founder’s Day and The Rice Festival. They also run an annual oratorical competition that results in area youths being able to participate in regional, state and national oratorical competitions.
With the strong leadership of Service Officers Lane Adrian, Post #68 especially focuses on supporting local veterans in need with a wide range of member-driven programs, from building handicapped ramps for disabled veterans to coordinating a very successful annual event to ensure that veterans have their needs and issues addressed.
