New Living Options
Burkentine breaks ground on Beckington, a luxury rental community, in Leland.
Burkentine recently welcomed guests to the site of their new luxury rental community, Beckington, in Leland. Beckington will offer 143 townhomes with spacious three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath floorplans, all featuring kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops and many with a single-car garage. The community will also offer grand amenities including a clubhouse, an outdoor fitness center and an abundance of green space with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, a BBQing area, walking/biking paths and a dog park.
“What we found so special about this Beckington site is it will give our residents easy access to city amenities while providing a suburban living experience,” says Bryce Burkentine, owner and vice president of land acquisitions and real estate. “We are slated for completion by the end of 2023 and are excited to begin pre-leasing this community.”
Dana Fisher, executive director of North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, said the luxury townhomes homes are very much needed in Brunswick County.
“This is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, so welcome and thank you!” Fisher said.
Representative Frank Iler also thanked Burkentine for investing in the county. “I know this isn’t a small investment,” he said. “People coming from up North, from Charlotte, Raleigh, everywhere … retiring here at the beach and inland. Working families needing a quality place to live. This is what we need. I challenge you to be a good neighbor and thank you all.”
Mike Burkentine, owner/vice president of sales and business development, said that every time Burkentine enters a new city or town, they look to bring value to a nonprofit organization to better the community. In that vein, he welcomed Dick Jones and Savanah Standifer of the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina and announced a donation of $5,000 to their Camp Kirkwood Capital Campaign.
“With this donation, kids at Camp Kirkwood for many years will get to enjoy some really fun new boating elements,” Standifer said. “Thank you so much for investing in our youth and the community, we greatly appreciate it.”
For more than 30 years, Burkentine has been committed to creating meaningful spaces built with quality and craftsmanship unsurpassed in the industry.
