Making Beautiful Music Together
A CIS Success Coach connects a Leland Middle School teacher with North Brunswick Kiwanis with great success.
Leland Middle School music teacher Terry Waddell faced a problem this school year. She needed additional guitars so she wouldn’t have to sanitize her guitars as often between student group instruction. CIS Success Coach Ruth Thompson heard about this need, put the word out to the community, and North Brunswick Kiwanis Club came through in a big way! They collected guitars from neighbors and friends who had unused guitars in their homes to donate. Thus far, six guitars have been collected. Donors include members of the Brunswick Community College Foundation group who host the annual I Am Extraordinary program for local middle school students, North Brunswick Kiwanis Club members and Brunswick Forest residents.
CIS Success Coaches consistently work to foster connections within the community, securing supports and resources to meet a broad range of student needs. CIS is happy to help connect these needed resources for the Leland Middle School music program.
