Kiwanis Club of Southport-Oak Island invites the public to its Open House on February 29 to learn about the club and its many programs.

Take advantage of the extra day we are gifted this leap year to learn about how you can make a difference in the life of a child.

On February 29 Kiwanis Club of Southport-Oak Island invites the public to attend its Open House at the Arbor Creek Clubhouse in Southport. Club members will be on hand to discuss the many projects and programs the club offers so that children can thrive, develop leadership skills and serve their communities.

“We are a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the children of Brunswick County and fostering the creation of a better community,” says Club President Jeff Mount. “We are passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children.”

Some of the many activities club members perform include helping first graders with their reading skills, supporting school robotic programs, teaching life skills through golf and growing vegetables for local food pantries. Those are in addition to the many service leadership programs, like Key Club and Circle K, sponsored by Kiwanis International.
