Howie Franklin Talks About Air Force One
Back by popular demand! Howie Franklin will speak about his experiences aboard Air Force One at the Museum of Coastal Carolina on June 22 at 6:00 PM. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and he will be happy to sign them for you.
Howie Franklin is the only Air Force One Flight Steward who served five U.S. Presidents: Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton. He also flew extensively with Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger during his Shuttle Diplomacy Missions for the Nixon and Ford administrations. During his presentation, Mr. Franklin will draw upon over 300 stories of his memories of working around some of the most powerful people in the world. Some of the stories are touching, some are humorous; all are entertaining.
Mr. Franklin currently serves as Member and Past President of the North Carolina Aviation Association. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the future Air Force One Museum, serves as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee of the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce, was formerly on the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools, and is the Director of Brunswick County Airport in southeastern North Carolina.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
The Museum is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00-7:00; Wednesday and Friday from 10:00-5:00; and Saturday from 10:00-1:30.
Admission is free for members. Non-member all-day admission is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors (62+), $7.50 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
