How to Fundraise in a Pandemic

Ocean Isle Museum Foundation is auctioning the chance to sponsor the first 2021 sea turtle nest on Ocean Isle Beach.

To offset lost revenue due to COVID-19, Ocean Isle Museum Foundation (OIMF), the fundraising arm of Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium, is hosting a unique auction fundraiser in December 2020.

Ocean Isle Museum Foundation is auctioning the chance to become the sponsor of Sea Turtle Nest Number 1 in Ocean Isle Beach. The first sea turtle nest of the season is a highly anticipated event in Ocean Isle Beach, so it’s a local honor to be its sponsor.

Sea Turtle Nest Auction Coastal Carolina Museum

The Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium lost revenue by being closed to the public for several months, by canceling the annual Wine Fest and Family Day and by canceling special lectures and programs that had been planned for this past spring and summer, the time of year when both facilities are usually the busiest.

This time of year, the museum is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, and the Planetarium is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with doors opening at 10:30 am. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach. Ingram Planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street in Sunset Beach. Admission is free for members. Non-member all-day Museum admission and per-show Planetarium admission is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors (62+), $7.50 for children (ages 3 to 12) and free for age 2 and younger.
