Cape Fear Solar Systems receives certification to install ChargePoint EV Chargers in southeastern NC.

Local solar installation company Cape Fear Solar Systems recently became a ChargePoint Certified Installer. Robert Parker, senior project manager and commercial solar developer for Cape Fear Solar Systems, received his ChargePoint certification, bringing both residential and commercial customers more EV charging options in southeastern North Carolina.

ChargePoint EV Powered By Solar Panels

ChargePoint is currently the world’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, touting that more than 2,726,215,600 electric miles have been driven on its network since the company was founded in 2007.

“ChargePoint is a leading electric vehicle charging network, and we are excited to provide this option to southeastern NC,” Parker says.

“We do a lot of product research and staff training before we make products available to customers. Certifications ensure the installation company knows every aspect of the product and installation process.”

Along with several other staff members at Cape Fear Solar, Parker is also NABCEP certified, which is the highest achievement in the solar industry.

Cape Fear Solar Systems, also founded in 2007, is no stranger to the EV charging installation process as they have been installing Tesla EV Chargers for several years now. All EV chargers installed by Cape Fear Solar are overseen by an in-house licensed master electrician. The company has already installed nearly 50 in-home chargers and expects to install hundreds more over the next couple of years as well as dozens of commercial charging stations.

Plug-in electric vehicles came on the market in 2010, and more than 1.4 million have sold since. The City of Wilmington currently has 64 public charging stations, three of which are free. The City of Raleigh has 403 public charging stations, of which 33 are free. Despite the pandemic, global sales of electric cars rose by 43% while overall car sales slumped by a fifth last year.

For anyone considering adding an EV charger for their residence or business, it is critical that the installer is certified.

Cape Fear Solar Systems is a certified ChargePoint and Tesla installer serving North Carolina customers along the coast and the Triangle area.

Cape Fear Solar Systems is currently ranked as the number one installer in southeastern North Carolina by Solar Power World. They offer turnkey energy systems such as photovoltaic (solar electric) panels, home batteries and electric vehicle charging stations for residential and commercial customers. Brands installed by Cape Fear Solar include LG, SunPower, Tesla, Generac, EnPhase, ChargePoint and more. To learn more about Cape Fear Solar visit CapeFearSolarSystems.com.
