Brunswick Community College Men’s Basketball team heads to Kansas for the DJCAA D-1 Tournament.

The Brunswick Community College (BCC) Men’s Basketball team is headed to Hutchinson, Kansas, to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) D-1 Tournament.

To be invited to the tournament, the BCC Dolphins needed to beat visiting team Caldwell Tech this past Saturday, April 10. At halftime, the Dolphins were up by 14 points. In the second half, the Dolphins never lost the lead and won the game with a score of 98 to 89.

In addition to the excitement of winning the game, Men’s Head Basketball Coach Walter Shaw saw his 400th win this year and was named NJCAA Region 10 – D1 Men’s Basketball “Coach of the Year”. This is the fifth time he has won this award.

On Thursday April 15 at 9:30 am, BCC fans and supporters will give the team a grand send-off in front of the Dinah E. Gore Fitness and Aquatic Center on the campus of BCC. Their first game in the tournament is on Monday, April 19 at 1 pm (eastern standard time).
