NC Oyster Festival is coming up on October 16 and 17.
A highly anticipated annual event, the NC Oyster Festival, presented by Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, is now in its 40th year of welcoming locals and visitors for a fall weekend of tasty food and family-oriented fun. The beautiful and quaint Town of Ocean Isle Beach has served as the festival’s backdrop since 2001.
“It always makes me smile to hear how the NC Oyster Festival has become a tradition for so many,” says Susan Freeman, executive director of Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce. “Family reunions, annual vacations and weekend getaways have been scheduled for the October festival weekend to celebrate and make memories, since the first festival in 1978.”
This year festival-goers will find unique craft and food vendors, live music and entertainment, the oyster-shucking contest and lots of food and beverages. Of there will be plentiful oysters to enjoy.
The festival will have some scheduling modifications from previous years, so stay connected on the website (ncoysterfestival.com) and the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page (Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce | Facebook).
“We are excited to have many of your favorite craft and food vendors and several new artists as well,” Freeman says. “Be sure to stop by the chamber tent for your commemorative t-shirt and pick up the annual festival print, created by local artist Keith White”.
