The Purple Onion and Highest Praise staff will be distributing 300 packaged hot meals from 4 to 6 pm in the parking lot of Highest Praise Church, located at 19 Red Bug Road SW in Shallotte. They will be distributing these meals to individuals in need using the drive-through method to stay within the guidelines for current restaurant safety. Distribution will be on a first-come, first-serve basis with a maximum of four meals per car. They have stated they will not be able to hold meals due to expected high demand.

Terry Bland, owner of The Purple Onion Cafe, says, “We are proud to be part of a small town where we can all do our part to help one another. If we come together as a community, we can get through this together!”

Folks coming to pick up meals are encouraged to carefully pull through the designated area and abide by the flow of traffic for efficiency and safety measures. The Shallotte Police Department will be there to direct traffic and ensure public safety.

“Today is an opportunity to see lives changed through the goodness of God displayed by His people,” says Pastor Sherwood Lancaster of Highest Praise Church. “His love and provision know no end and neither should our love for our community.”
