H2GO and PIO Tyler Wittkofsky receive recognition from the North Carolina Association of Government Information Officers.
In November 2021 the North Carolina Association of Government Information Officers (NCAGIO) recognized H2GO in two of their awards categories. H2GO’s Public Information Officer Tyler Wittkofsky was recognized for the top award, the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service. NCAGIO also recognized H2GO for second place in the Campaign/Community Engagement category for their aquifer-sourced reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant communications plan.
NCAGIO awards the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service to current NCAGIO members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty while working in the communications profession for local or state government agencies. This award highlights the positive ways in which the NCAGIO member has contributed to his or her agency/organization, community and colleagues.
In the community Wittkofsky previously served as the president of the Board of Directors for the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, secretary on the Communities in Schools of Brunswick County’s Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for Brunswick Family Assistance.
His strong dedication to his community was a leading factor in his recognition. Wittkofsky also works to find ways to better communicate with the community by providing them with timely updates and educational resources on their website.
“I’m honored to be recognized by the North Carolina Association of Government Information Officers for the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service,” Wittkofsky says. “I have always taken pride in caring for my community and my coworkers. H2GO has developed several community-based programs I am proud to be part of.”
NCAGIO also recognized H2GO as the runner-up in the Campaign/Community Engagement category for their RO plant’s communications plan. The plan, developed by H2GO’s staff and board of commissioners, was used to raise public awareness for the RO plant as well as to correct misinformation.
The plan included utilization of social media as the main targeting tool for customers. H2GO created appealing graphics and videos at least once a month that highlighted the construction progress on the project. H2GO also included bill inserts into their plan and advertising in local publications and television.
“Our staff and board are humbled and honored to have received this recognition from NCAGIO,” says H2GO Executive Director Bob Walker. “We work hard to ensure we are communicating with our customers in the most efficient and effective ways possible. This award affirms our commitment to being proactive and transparent stewards of our community.”
H2GO was honored for their awards at the NCAGIO Virtual Annual Conference on November 18, 2021. NCAGIO is dedicated to the professional development and enhancement of its members. The association offers opportunities for members to meet throughout the year to network and exchange information, resources, ideas and news related to the public information profession.
