Dew Oil Company Celebrates 75 Years

Dew Oil Company celebrates 75 years of community service and innovation, honoring its founders, dedicated employees, and loyal customers for their contributions to its success.

Dew Oil Company, a family-owned business, proudly marks 75 years of dedicated service to the community. Founded by Eugene Dew, who signed a contract with Esso on Nov. 6th, 1949, the company began as a distributor supplying propane, fuels and lubricant sales and service to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties.

Originally, they installed and serviced Heating and Air Conditioning units, stoves and fireplaces for residential customers while providing products and service to local farmers, family logging businesses and Riegel Paper Mill. Under the leadership of Eugene’s son, Sandy Dew, the company expanded in the 70s, 80s and 90s to include convenience stores in North and South Carolina and a bulk chemical transportation division, showcasing his true entrepreneurial spirit.

Dew Oil Company extends heartfelt gratitude to the community for supporting its enduring legacy. Special thanks go to Buddy Smith for his 45 years of unwavering dedication and to Steve Sullivan for 25 years of commitment to safety. Current president, Gina Dew Taylor also expresses personal thanks to her husband, David, for advancing the company forward.
