BLT’s Gala Raises $14k
Brunswick Little Theatre’s gala raises $14,000 to support creative programming and facility improvements in Southport, NC.
Brunswick Little Theatre (BLT), a dedicated all-volunteer, non-profit theatre group, is celebrating the resounding success of its recent Cabaret & Cabernet Gala held on September 26th. The event exceeded expectations, raising an impressive $14,000 to support future creative programming and much-needed facility improvements.
According to BLT board president Christie Delbridge, “We are delighted at the response from our thespian community. The sold-out house demonstrates their strong support and loyalty and will allow BLT to continue to grow and expand its performances and programs.” Delbridge also expressed deep gratitude to the major sponsor, Novant Health, along with the many donors, contributors, and volunteers who provided food, raffle gifts, and heartfelt support for the event.
The semi-formal Cabaret welcomed over 130 guests to the Southport Community Building, where attendees enjoyed bidding on raffle baskets and sampling a wide array of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and drinks. The highlight of the evening was a series of Broadway tunes and dance numbers performed by BLT’s talented singers, dancers, and musicians.
The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, laughter, and even a few tears, truly embodying the spirit of community theatre.
Delbridge emphasized the transformative power of theatre, stating, “Theatre is a powerful art form that brings our community together. It fosters creativity, empathy, critical thinking, and offers insights into the human condition.”
