Battle of the Bowls Returns
Leland’s Battle of the Bowls returns Sept. 17 at Founders Park with chili, live music, food trucks, games, and donations for Manna Ministries.
Leland, North Carolina, is gearing up for a fun, family-friendly night that also supports neighbors in need. The Town of Leland will host the fourth annual Battle of the Bowls on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Founders Park (113 Town Hall Drive, Leland, NC).
This community event combines a chili cook-off, live music, food trucks, and activities for all ages, while raising support for Manna Ministries, a local organization that assists individuals and families facing hardship.
What Is Battle of the Bowls?
Battle of the Bowls is Leland’s annual chili competition featuring local public safety teams. This year, the following agencies will face off for bragging rights and the Battle of the Bowls title:
• Leland Fire Department
• Leland Police Department
• Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office
Attendees can sample homemade chili (while supplies last) and help choose the winner.
How to Vote (and How It Helps)
Voting is designed to be simple and impactful. Community members can vote for their favorite chili by:
• Donating canned goods, or
• Purchasing a $1 voting ticket
All donations and proceeds benefit Manna Ministries, helping provide support to local families and individuals.
A Proven Community Fundraiser
Battle of the Bowls has quickly become a feel-good Leland tradition. Last year’s event collected more than 200 canned-goods donations and raised more than $500 for Manna Ministries.
Live Music Schedule
Music is a major part of the evening, with performances planned on the Founders Park amphitheater stage:
• North Brunswick High School performance: 5:45 to 6 p.m.
• Michael Schott (country hits and originals): 6 to 8 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the concert.
