Bark in the Park 2016
March 12 marked the seventh annual Bark in the Park at Leland Municipal Park. This happening gave people a chance to have fun with their pets as well as provided services to pet owners and animal welfare organizations.
The event was a huge success. It featured a free rabies clinic sponsored by Furever Friends Animal Rescue, in which Capeside Animal Hospital administered 302 rabies shots. A major element was the pet food drive and raffle to support the Brunswick County Animal Protective Services, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Shelter and a dog adoption. Raffle tickets were given to each person who donated a bag/can of pet food. The raffle included items donated and collected by local sponsors.Vendors were on site selling items and providing information that pertained to pets. Information was also offered to those who were interested in adoption.
