During the grand opening, the coffee house will feature an extensive inventory of coffees, teas, and merchandise available for purchase.

With Boiling Spring Lakes experiencing a surge in new residential units, including over 600 in Audubon Park and the Highlands alone, a community gathering space in the form of a coffee shop is the perfect addition.

Owned by Steve Lewis and his wife Pam, this coffee shop is an extension of their successful online coffee and tea business located at 1433 North Howe in Southport. Steve brings three decades of industry experience, including management roles at Starbucks and Melitta Coffee, as well as five years of running a coffee house in Atlanta.

To complement their online business, which boasts subscribers from across the US, the couple participates in local farm markets and maintains a presence at the Blue Moon Gift shops in Wilmington, where they sell their retail bags of coffees and teas. Steve shared, “For the past three years or so, a lot of our customers have asked us to open a storefront.”

He added, “My wife and I were doing farmers’ markets in 100-degree weather when we thought, ‘Let’s create an experience.’ The café with a patio and a drive-up window emerged from that inspired moment.”

Working in partnership with a private roaster in North Carolina, Bald Head Coffee® prides itself on delivering top-quality products. “We source the best beans possible from all over the world,” Steve emphasized. “We will offer fresh tea leaves.” Their extensive selection includes more than 35 teas and 40 coffees, encompassing single origin, blends, organics, decaf, and flavored coffees, available whole bean or ground to order.

Steve shared his vision, saying, “Our goal is to provide our customers with a beverage experience. We will pair the beverages with an extensive menu and plan to host special events, including music.”

The coffee house will have 24 seats indoors, including the coffee bar, as well as 24 seats on the dog-friendly patio. They are planning to offer team-building coffee tastings, tea parties, holiday celebrations, and more. Additionally, an app for pre-ordering, gift cards, and gift baskets will be available for your convenience.

Steve expressed his enthusiasm for the new location, highlighting ample parking and the convenience of the drive-through for customers on the go. “We have customers now who drive an hour to get the beans,” he said. “Boiling Spring Lakes is the perfect spot, and this is a beautiful building, so we thought it would be a good location for us to grow.”

Bald Head Coffee® & Tea House is proud to be certified as an Ocean Friendly establishment, committed to supporting sea turtles and maintaining our oceans’ cleanliness.
