Atlantic Union Bank plans 10 new North Carolina branches and 75+ hires, expanding in Raleigh and Wilmington through 2027.

Atlantic Union Bank announced plans to expand its North Carolina presence with 10 new branch locations and more than 75 new hires across the Raleigh and Wilmington markets over the next two years.

The expansion will significantly increase the bank’s consumer and business footprint in the state, building on its existing North Carolina operations. According to the bank, leases have already been executed for seven sites, with additional locations in various stages of development.

10 New Branches Planned in Raleigh and Wilmington

Atlantic Union Bank expects to open seven branches in the Raleigh area and three branches in the Wilmington area. The first locations are expected to open in the second half of 2026, with additional branches rolling out on a phased schedule through 2027.

• Park West at Village Market Place (Morrisville)
• Creedmoor Road (Raleigh)
• Capital Boulevard (Raleigh)

Confirmed branch locations opening in 2027
• Alston Town Center area (Cary)
• Apex South (Apex)
• Academy Village (Fuquay-Varina)
• Leland Town Center (Leland)

The bank said three additional branch locations will be announced as sites are finalized.

Hiring Plans: 75+ New Banking Jobs in North Carolina

To support the expansion, Atlantic Union Bank has already begun hiring locally and plans to add more than 75 roles across commercial and retail banking, wealth advising, and mortgage lending.

The bank says the new branches will expand access to personalized banking solutions and local decision-making tailored to North Carolina communities.
