Wilmington Boat Show Presented by Yamaha Motor Corporation is coming to downtown Wilmington October 1 to 3.
The Wilmington Boat Show, presented by Yamaha, opens on Friday, October 1 and continues through Sunday, October 3. The show will be held at Wilmington Convention Center as well as outside at the convention center. Nestled between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, it is one of the state’s most accessible coastal destinations.
“We are thrilled to host the annual boat show, and although the boating industry has had an unprecedented sales year, the show will offer boating enthusiasts the opportunity to talk to the experts and compare boat brands,” says Jacqui McGuinness, the show’s founder. “Although we won’t have the same number of boats as years past, there will still be a solid representation and people will be able to get a head start for next year’s boating season.”
This year, the boat show features Carolina Catch, a catch-and-release fishing pond. This is a great way to be introduced to the fun of fishing. Carolina Catch is sponsored by Azure Funding.
Along with Carolina Catch, the show hosts a series of excellent fishing clinics on Saturday and Sunday. Wilmington Fishing Expo, sponsored by BellHart Marine Services, includes the following topics and presenters:
Inshore Saltwater Fishing (Flounder, Red Drum and Speckled Trout) presented by Captain Jerry Dilsaver
Nearshore Ocean Fishing for Mackerel Presented by Captain Jerry Dilsaver
Women on the Water Presented by Captain Adam Wagner
Maintenance Matters Presented by Emmett Stovall
Shallow Water King Fishing Tricks and Tactics Presented by Craig Sutton
Introduction to Basic Boating Safety Presented by Alan Deforest, FSO-PE
Attendees can join the fun with an interactive bass-casting game while learning the value of fishing licenses and fishing regulations for inland and joint waters. They will be on-site answering question on upcoming fishing events and on wildlife or human wildlife interactions.
“We are proud to partner with JBM on such an outstanding show,” says David Ittner of the Yamaha Marine Group. “This venue provides us the opportunity to work directly with our boat builders and dealers and provide our customers an opportunity to experience firsthand our new Helm Master EX Integrated Boat Control System, along with our new V6 4.2-liter F300 Series with integrated digital electric steering. The Wilmington Boat Show is one of the best on the East Coast.”
Along with Yamaha Motor Corporation, the show is sponsored by GEICO, Marathon Xpress, Wilmington Water Tours, Azure Financial, BellHart Marine Services, Cape Fear Community College, Battleship NC and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Originally founded in Charleston, JBM & Associates has been producing coastal boating events since 2001, including: Charleston Boat Show, Savannah Boat Show, Charleston In-Water Boat Show and a new show — Everything Outdoor Fest in November 2022.
