Carol Babson, a nurse at Dosher for more than 30 years, is recognized for her outstanding service.

Carol Babson, LPN of Dosher’s North Howe Street Primary Care Practice was recently honored with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

Babson, who has been the long-time nurse for Dosher primary care physician Dr. Andre Minor, was nominated for her dedication to her patients as well as her caring nature and attentiveness. The nomination submitted stated of Babson, “Her natural nature is just kind. She is a devoted nurse to Dr. Minor and just a wonderful person in every way.”

The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, California, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Barnes died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little-known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Barnes and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
