A Good Neighbor to Ocean Cure
Local State Farm Agent Josh London presents a $5,000 grant to Carolina Beach-based Ocean Cure.
Local State Farm agent Josh London has a long history of demonstrating what it means to be a Good Neighbor by stepping up to help the community. On June 16 London presented Ocean Cure with a $5,000 grant on his behalf from State Farm® in recognition for being a 100 for Good® Champion. London was among 100 State Farm agents recognized for their dedication of time and resources to serve local communities.
Ocean Cure is a Carolina Beach-based nonprofit organization that helps improve the quality of life for people with challenges and disabilities through surfing.
For more than 10 years they have served more than a thousand participants and their families with a number of life challenges and disabilities through the use of beach wheel chairs, accessible flooring and adaptive surf boards.
“Through grants like this we are able to improve accessibility to a place that was previously inaccessible for those with mobility issues,” says Kevin Murphy, founder of Ocean Cure. “We are grateful to Josh for this generous donation.”
London says the grants are a part of State Farm’s commitment to building stronger communities.
“It’s not enough to simply say we’re a Good Neighbor, we embrace the responsibility to make this community better by being a part of a solution,” London says.
