The local Tropical Smoothie Cafés are giving free smoothies to healthcare workers, first responders, police officers and fire fighters through March 29.

The local Tropical Smoothie Cafes have decided to give back to our local healthcare workers, first responders, police officers and firefighters. According to owner Brandon Korman, “What better way to show our gratitude to those who put themselves on the frontlines than to give away smoothies to them?”

Originally from New York, Korman has been in this community for six years.

“It has been such a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful community, and this is our way of trying to add some sunshine to everyone’s lives,” he says.

Established in 1997 in Tallahassee, Florida, Tropical Smoothie Cafe boasts bold, flavorful smoothies with a healthy appeal, all made to order with quality ingredients. They also have toasted wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and quesadillas made to order. They have grown to more than 700 locations in 46 states.

Their current 100,000 smoothie challenge is an initiative in which all stores pledge to give away 100-plus smoothies to those who serve our community.

If you are a healthcare worker, first responder or emergency personnel, Korman asks that you email them at tscwilmington@gmail.com and let them know where you work and what day/time works for you to pick up the smoothies. Once at your destination, he asks that you send pictures via Facebook, Instagram and the above email so they can share the TROPITUDE!
